Whew

Well, my first year at the Morgentaler Clinic is drawing to a close. Yesterday it was fantastically cold, and I only stayed for the morning shift because otherwise I probably would have dropped dead. There were only two protesters out in the morning (Peter Ryan and Mr. Mumbles); perhaps more came later, but I doubt it. Seriously, it was freezing.

It's been a pretty exciting year here, I must say. And for anyone who is the least bit passionate about choice, volunteering at your local clinic is such a rewarding and fulfilling thing to do, for such a minimal commitment of energy and time. I have met some wonderful people and hope to meet more in the coming year. In fact, being a volunteer here has led to not only new friendships, but also a job! This is good and worthwhile work and I am pleased to be a part of it.

Wow, the last blog of the year is getting all sappy! Hehehe. I should probably finish here, and wish you all a happy winter break. I will be back and blogging the first week of January, and later that month I'll be in Ottawa for the 20th anniversary celebration of the Morgentaler decision, so it'll be interesting blogging for the next little while!

Best wishes to all of you, and thanks for your support.

* Yes, what a rewarding and fulfilling thing to do, to assist potentially in hundreds of murders in a given year. I'm sure there are many people out there that cannot wait to assist in dismembering and killing innocent human beings. What a rush you must recieve!

"I have met some wonderful people and hope to meet more in the coming year. In fact, being a volunteer here has led to not only new friendships, but also a job!"

* Great, so this cute little group of friends can sit around and talk about all of the children they assisted in killing! And imagine, your getting paid to do it! It's alot like service with the Gestapo, only in this case you don't have to worry about anybody potentially fighting back (except perhaps when the baby resists the Abortion doctors utensils, I suppose).

"This is good and worthwhile work and I am pleased to be a part of it."

* Really, it must be rather pleasurable to lay down at night knowing that another one of those innocent babies bit the dust, and you helped! That's a rewarding career!

Wow anonymous, you sure take that "judge not" stuff pretty seriously, eh? What a cheery and fun-loving person you must be.

Is it so hard for you to believe that the people on the other side of this issue are equally passionate, and equally sure that they are doing the right thing? You're an ass.

Nice Godwin though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law

Also, "your" is possessive. What you were looking for was "you're".

Good effort.

"Wow anonymous, you sure take that "judge not" stuff pretty seriously, eh? What a cheery and fun-loving person you must be."

* Suddenly, you became a scholar of Catholic doctrine (argh). "fun-loving" for myself does not include taking pleasure in the slaughter of innocent babies. It's rather unfortunate that your "fun" is taking joy and excitement from it.

"Is it so hard for you to believe that the people on the other side of this issue are equally passionate, and equally sure that they are doing the right thing? You're an ass."

* It's not hard for me to believe. You are passionate about allowing children to be put to death. Yet, if a newborn baby was mutilated and destroyed by a doctor, you'd say what a tragedy. Passion is great......but not when it is killing innocent children, whose only crime is thier conception. I'm proud, very proud, to be considered an "ass" for the sake of an innocent human being.

"Also, "your" is possessive. What you were looking for was "you're"."

* Thank you for your grammatical exegesis. It was much appreciated.

Here's the way I see it. I am doing something that I am passionate about, that I see as helping women. I have made friends doing it. I'm trying to express how grateful I am for the opportunity. Just because you happen to be on the other side of the issue doesn't mean you have to be a total dick about it. Why don't you try seeing it from someone else's perspective for once?

And no, I'm not an expert on Catholic doctrine, but I know what Jesus said and I can tell that you're not living by his example, so that makes you a shitty Christian by my estimation. And that doesn't do a lot for your religion-based arguments.

Why don't you go piss on someone else's parade?

"Here's the way I see it. I am doing something that I am passionate about, that I see as helping women."

* Couldn't you get your indulgence by....I dunno.....maybe volunteering at a soup kitchen or something? I mean, there's gotta be a better way of "helping women" than by participating in killing thier children, isn't there?

"I have made friends doing it."

* Yeah, so.......Charles Manson's brigade made friends too. Does that mean those people didn't commit terrible crimes against humanity, because they "made friends"?

"Just because you happen to be on the other side of the issue doesn't mean you have to be a total dick about it."

* I try not to be a total dick about it, though I may come off that way to some. Sorry. It's just that after reading so much distortion of truth on your blog, it kinda gets a person pissed off, right?

"And no, I'm not an expert on Catholic doctrine, but I know what Jesus said and I can tell that you're not living by his example,"

* And how do you know that you have the right interpretation of the text you are reffering to? And, since according to you Catholicism is bullshit, how do you know He even said that at all? How do you know that it wasn't inserted into the text years later?

"so that makes you a shitty Christian by my estimation."

* In your opinion, Christians are shitty and follow "bullshit" anyways, you established that a few posts ago, so what new revelation is this to me? How has this changed what I thought your opinion was of Me from a few posts earlier?

"And that doesn't do alot for your religion-based arguments."

* What does it matter? You refuse to engage me on any type of theological or philosophical platform regardless...because it's all "bullshit", you're just not sure why.

"Why don't you go piss on someone else's parade."

* Because your pissing on the protesters parade.

Whoa "anonymous", I'm glad to see you understand sarcasm. What a champ!

I can't believe Godwin's Law came out so quickly in this blog war.

Oh, and who can forget this turd gem from your post: "...the baby resists the Abortion doctors utensils, I suppose".

That may be the stupidest thing I have ever read.

Stop imposing your values on other people, you dick.

Happy Hanukkah to all!

How do you know I DON'T volunteer at a soup kitchen? Anyway, I'm not doing this to "get my indulgence". I saw a need and I went for it. I'm not sure if you realize this, but I don't actually perform the abortions. I'm not sure how you equate making sure women get past the protesters safely with "participating in child killing", but whatever.

"Charles Manson's brigade made friends too."

This is like some kind of Godwin side-step. I'm going to call it Pedgehog's law, and it will go "after being called out on a Godwin, the inevitable comparison between the opponent and someone just as despicable but not *quite* as universally reviled, in order to sidestep making the same mistake again."

"I try not to be a total dick about it, though I may come off that way to some. Sorry."

Apology accepted.

"It's just that after reading so much distortion of truth on your blog, it kinda gets a person pissed off, right?"

Okay, I write exactly what happens. Tell me one time that I have distorted the truth on this blog. I challenge you.

"And how do you know that you have the right interpretation of the text you are reffering to? And, since according to you Catholicism is bullshit, how do you know He even said that at all? How do you know that it wasn't inserted into the text years later?"

You're right, I don't. Sorry. Maybe following Jesus Christ's example really does involve calling people evil and baby killers, instead of not judging. My bad.

"In your opinion, Christians are shitty"

Nope, never said that. I did say it was all bullshit, but I never said someone was "shitty" just for believing it.

"Because your pissing on the protesters parade."

Again, you're looking for "you're". (It's a tricky rule, I know). And I wouldn't worry too much about standing up for the protesters; believe me, they can hold their own. Unless you are one of them - in that case, by all means, continue to comment. The more madness you spew, the more clearly my point is made.

A blessed Yule to everyone!

Again, the question of whether this blog contributes to the enthusiasm of the protesters. I'm starting to think it might.

I don't think that the protestors need any help getting worked up. These weekly temper tantrums are all they have left due to the fact that abortions are legal and are not murder. Ha! Keep whining and bullying, it is really your only option at this point. It doesn't make an ounce of difference but it sure makes you feel righteous.

"How do you know I DON'T volunteer at a soup kitchen?"

* Because that would be way, way, way too many jollies for one girl too handle. I mean, contributing to the death of children and serving soup....nah, too much pleasure for one girl.

"I'm not sure if you realize this, but I don't actually perform the abortions. "

* Did this make you feel better, I mean, typing this out or something? Why state something so obvious? Did you think I may think more highly of you because you only escort the children inside?

"I'm not sure how you equate making sure women get past the protesters safely with "participating in child killing","

* You enable mothers to take thier children inside to kill thier babies. You defend and protect thier crime.

"Okay, I write exactly what happens. Tell me one time that I have distorted the truth on this blog. I challenge you."

* Ummm....which post would you like me to start on? I mean, we could limit it to only the personal attacks on Peter Ryan if you'd like?

"You're right, I don't. Sorry. Maybe following Jesus Christ's example really does involve calling people evil and baby killers, instead of not judging. My bad."

* I'm sorry, but your interpretation of this text is erroneous. Jesus not only judged, but condemned sin when in the presence of it. The prime example is when He drove tax collectors from the Temple. He also gave His Holy Apostles the power to Bind and Loose. He gave them a charism which allowed them to pronounce judgment, even allowing them to declare anathema on those who violated thier teachings. Jesus Christ said to the Blessed Apostle Peter "I give to you the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven. Whatsoever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven". Peter's and His Successors, the Bishops of Rome, declare abortion to be directly contrary to the moral law and a grave evil.

"Again, you're looking for "you're". (It's a tricky rule, I know). And I wouldn't worry too much about standing up for the protesters; believe me, they can hold their own. Unless you are one of them - in that case, by all means, continue to comment. The more madness you spew, the more clearly my point is made."

* I'm sorry, I didn't realize that spelling bees were your cherised moments as a child. I'm not currently a protester, but suddenly these conversations make me want to go just so we can have tea and biscuits afterwards.

"the fact that abortions are legal and are not murder"

* Legal according to what law?

"Ha! Keep whining and bullying,"

* Am I missing something here? Did you people have a bad experience with the playground bully in middle school?

"it is really your only option at this point."

* Is it really the only option though?

"It doesn't make an ounce of difference but it sure makes you feel righteous"

* Can't Canadians at least use metric weights and measures in daily conversation? Righteous, no......pity, yes.

I'm just going to say, I have never lied or "distorted the truth" on this blog. My "personal attacks" on Peter Ryan involve me saying exactly what he does, and then speculating on why he might do them. If that's distorting the truth - fine. Guilty.

Thank you, at least, for choosing a nickname - it was getting a bit confused. However, your Catholic ramblings are getting really boring so I think I'm just going to stop replying to you. It doesn't seem like either of us are going to convince the other of anything. So, you know, rock on.
